Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Banko Gotiti comes from family-owned farms working with the Banko Gotiti Cooperative, based in the village of Banko Gotiti in Gedeb, Gedeo Zone, Ethiopia. Founded in 2012, the cooperative has around 350 members and is known for its careful cherry selection and high-quality coffees.
Here we’ve got a natural process – ripe cherries are carefully sorted and dried whole on raised beds. They spend several days there, regularly turned to ensure even drying. Keeping the whole cherry during drying gives the coffee more sweetness, fruitiness and body.
It’s sweet, thick and very jam-like in the cup. Notes of cherry, peach and sweet vanilla. Cheers!
