To celebrate Klaro’s first birthday, I decided to find something WOW, so meet Ethiopia Boledu Anaerobic Natural! Behind this gem is Boledu Coffee, one of the most respected producers in Ethiopia. No wonder their lots regularly take part in the Cup of Excellence competition.
This particular lot was processed anaerobic natural, which makes it intensely sweet, a bit boozy (hey, it’s a birthday, why not?), and tropical. In the cup, I tasted raspberry, red wine, and pineapple. But more than the flavour notes, what really surprised me was the texture and beautiful balance. TOPTOPTOP!
